Executive Board Positions (中文)

The executive board responsibilities are as follows: President | Executive Vice President | Secretary | Treasurer | Communications Vice President | Events Vice President | Volunteer Coordinator Vice President | Dual Language Outreach Vice President

President 

• • Makes sure the Parent Association runs smoothly and is in compliance with bylaws and other regulations.

  • Runs Parent Association meetings, supports committees, and keeps in close contact with Executive Board members.

  • Attends district Presidents' Council and school leadership team (SLT) meetings. 

Executive Vice President 

• • Ensures that voices from across the school community (both elementary and middle schools) are represented in all discussions.

  • Assists the president in running the Parent Association.

Secretary

• • Records minutes at all Parent Association meetings.

  • Preps meeting notices, agendas, sign-in sheets, and materials for distribution. 

  • Reviews, maintains, and responds to Parent Association correspondence. 

  • Maintains Parent Association website.

Treasurer

• • Responsible for all financial affairs and funds of the Parent Association, which includes maintaining and sharing financial records and understanding proper procedures for handling the association’s finances.

  • Plays an important role in setting fundraising goals and devising fundraising strategies.

  • Prepares the Association's interim and annual financial reports.

Communications Vice President (new position)

• • Responsible for making sure the Parent Association is communicating effectively with the school community. 

  • Crafts, coordinates, and shares flyers, social media posts, newsletters, etc. with members and the wider school community. (Can form a committee to help!)

Events Vice President (new position)

• • Working with other members of the Board, the Events VP will create and manage a calendar of events, communicate what is needed to run the event, and determine which events will be focused on fundraising and/or community-building.

  • Oversees the planning of Association-run events (with support from the Executive Board and an events committee).

Volunteer Coordinator Vice President

• • Recruits and organizes volunteers for Parent Association and school activities.

  • Oversees the Class Reps program to make sure parent volunteers have the information and support they need to communicate with other parents in their child’s class. 

Dual Language Outreach Vice President

• • Dedicated to supporting the school’s unique Dual Language program.

  • Serves as a vital link between families that primarily speak English and those that primarily speak Chinese.

  • Ensures the voices of Chinese speaking families are heard.

• 審查、保留和回覆上級組織的信件。

• 衞護家長會的網站。

財務主管/聯合財務主管

• 負責家長協會的所有財務事務和資金，包括保存和共享財務記錄及了解處理協會財務的正確程序。

• 在設定籌款目標和製定籌款策略方面發揮重要作用。

• 編製協會中期及年度財務報告。

傳播副主席

• 確保家長會與學校社區進行有效溝通。

• 與會員和更廣泛的學校社區製作、協調和分享傳單、社交媒體貼文、新聞通訊等。 （可以成立一個委員會來提供幫助！）

活動副主席

• 與董事會其他成員合作創建和管理活動日曆，溝通舉辦活動所需的內容，並確定那些活動將專注於籌款和/或社區建設。

• 監管家長會舉辦的活動的規劃（在執行委員會和活動委員會的支持下）。

家長志工協調員副主席

• 招募並組織志工參加家長組織活動和學校活動。

• 監督班級代表計劃，確保家長志工獲得與孩子班級其他家長溝通所需的資訊和支援。

雙語外聯副主席

• 致力於支持學校獨特的雙語課程。

• 作為主要講英語的家庭和主要講中文的家庭之間的重要聯系。

• 確保華語家庭的聲音被聽到。
